The Four Principles of Healthy Eating

Picture
There are so many diets out there have you noticed? We've got the Atkins,,South Beach, Hollywood, Eat Right For Your Blood Type, Low Carb, Zone and so many more. And how do you know which one is the best. Theres so much conflicting mis-information.
Yet Americans still aren't very healthy are they? Diabetes , heart disease, autism, obesity are all on the rise.

I think that Americans are over fed and under nourished
So what do we do ?

One thing that makes sense to me is to go back to the way our ancestors ate before the Industrial Revolution came along.. Before they started stripping most of the nutrition from our food.

Here are Four principles that Dr Susan Silberstein author of Hungry For Health suggests:

The first suggestion is to EAT PRIMITIVE:
Go back to eating the way our primitive ancestors did. What did they eat ?
Roots and Fruits
Greens and Beens
Seeds and Weeds
Plus some fish or wild game

What a difference from todays modern industrialized diet
Meats and Sweets
Pies and Fries
Chips and Dips
And Cakes and Shakes

The seconds suggestion Dr. Silberstein suggests is -
EAT  COLORFUL
Take a look at the American diet. How colorful is it? White flour, white breads, white pasta, white milk, white rice,,white cheese.. Wheres the color !!!

The third suggestion is-
EAT AKALINE
Researchers are suggesting a diet of 80% plant food -20% animal food  to achieve this. Disease grows the fastest in an acidic environment.. Plant food is akaline . It only makes sense to eat lots of veggies doesn't it?

The Fourth and final suggestion is -
EAT ORGANIC
Most of the vegetables and fruits that are massed produced are sprayed with chemical pesticides, and other carcinogenic and multagenic additives.. Plants absorb most of there minerals and nutrients from the soil . Organic farmers are so important to us.. Because they see to it that the minerals and nutrients get put back into the soil
